Tom Moye is a Senior Project Manager with HBCC, who graduated from East Carolina University in 1994 with a B.S. in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Construction Management and a minor in Business Administration. Tom embarked on his collegiate journey in 1988, which consisted of obtaining his education while playing baseball on an athletic scholarship. After his four year eligibility expired, he accepted a Coop position working with Weyerhaeuser in New Bern, N.C., in their Quality Control Pulp Division for a year prior to finishing his Construction Management degree.
Tom has only worked with two construction companies over his tenure in the construction industry. Those companies consist of J.H. Hudson Construction Company of Greenville, (now known as Hudson Brothers Construction Company) and T.A. Loving Company out of Goldsboro, N.C. Beginning his journey with a jackhammer in his hands at Minges Coliseum in 1994, Tom developed his field and onsite project level experience from the ground up. One of Tom’s largest projects was a retirement community in Asheville, NC, consisting of two five-story independent living centers, a four-story assisted living center, and skilled nursing facilities, all connected to a community center and fifty-four cottages for approximately $50,000,000. Effectively and efficiently communicating with owners, designers and project level personnel has always been his goal to completing a successful project.
Married to the amazing love of his life, Stephanie Dixon Moye of Washington, NC, they have five children. Hannah, Taylor, Nathan, Anna Leah and Thomas range in ages from twenty down to seven years old, as of 2019. Tom also enjoys attending and serving at Grace Church where he has held several positions including deacon, chairman of deacon board, etc. His family has elected to homeschool their children in an effort to provide guidance through their Christian values and to maintain a high level of academic expectation.
